ORDERED STATES is a series of Tableaux Vivants, featuring 140 inhabitants of a small town in Upper Austria. Anne Lorenz went out to capture the recurring patterns ands rhythms of an ordinary village and choreographed them using the village as a visual backdrop. The slow procession from one scene to the next forces the spectator to engage with the details of everyday behaviour, noting the subtle and often funny changes between staged and unstaged reality.
